Knights Sweep Ellison

The Harker Heights Knights edged the Ellison Eagles 9-8 Tuesday at Killeen Bowlerama to remain undefeated at 7-0.  Playing without their top two scorers, the Knights still took a 5-2 lead after match play behind Ryan Weeks and Mike Allgood.  The Eagles came back to take a 6-5 lead by winning the first two team games and took a commanding 61 pin lead.  However, the Knights eked out a 201-192 win in the 3rd game and won 171-143 in the final game to capture the match, although Ellison won total pins.  Ellison fell into a tie with Shoemaker at 4-3 for the final playoff spot.

Danielle Shea led the Lady Knights (4-3) to a 14-3 upset of the previously undefeated Lady Eagles.  Playing without their top two scorers, Ellison fell behind 4-3 after match play before Heights swept the team games.  Shea averaged 210 for the Lady Knights while Chesea Evans and Amanda Brown topped the scoring for Ellison.  The loss left the Lady Eagles tied with Shoemaker for the district lead at 6-1 and sets up their match next Monday against the Lady Grey Wolves for the probable district title.
