Eagles Sweep Cove

            Ellison’s Lady Eagles remained unbeaten (6-0) rolling over Copperas Cove’s Lady Dawgs 15-2 Monday at Hallmark Lanes.  Chelsea Evans, Devin Revels, and Cindy Gill led Ellison to a sweep of the match play round.  Cove won the 3rd team game for their only points.  Jamie Reed led the scoring for Cove (2-4).

            The Eagles took their match by an identical 15-2 score.  Jordan Watkins averaged 214 to lead a strong, balanced attack.  Kevin Williams continued his strong bowling for Cove, averaging 207.  The Eagles raised their district record to 4-2 while the Dawgs fell to 1-5.

Roos Shut Out Lampasas

            The Killeen Kangaroos shut out the Lampasas Badgers 17-0 Monday at Killeen Bowlerama.  Seth Rockwell led a balanced attack for the Roos who kept pace with Ellison for 2nd place in district play at 4-2.  John Carroll led the Badgers (0-6) in scoring.

            Brittanie McGhee led the Lady Roos in a walkover.

Knights, Shoemaker Split

            The district-leading and undefeated Harker Heights Knights (6-0) dodged a bullet Tuesday taking a 14-3 victory over the Shoemaker Grey Wolves at Hallmark Lanes.  The Knights, playing without their top two scorers, edged to a 4-3 lead after match play behind Mike Allgood and Trevor Baum, then averaged 186 to sweep the team games.  Shoemaker, led by Jerry Green and Leighton Bryant, could not overcome the loss of their 5th player and had to bowl shorthanded.  They Grey Wolves fell to 3-3 in district play.

            Shoemaker’s Lady Grey Wolves kept pace with Ellison with a narrow 12-5 victory over the Lady Knights.  Shoemaker jumped to a 5-2 lead after match play behind Elisha Black and Kaneysha Black.  The team games saw the lead change hands each game with Shoemaker prevailing in the first two games to seal the win.  The Lady Knights took the third game and the teams tied in total pins.  Danielle Shea averaged 208 to again lead Heights, who fell to 3-3 while Shoemaker raised their record to 5-1.
