Changes to the Bylaws and Competition Rules are highlighted in that document by bold and italicized print. Below are the changes for the 2008-09 season.

CHANGE #1

We are specifying that the ending date of district competition shall be the last Saturday in February each year instead of a specific date. The regional tournaments will be scheduled on the first Saturday of March and the state finals will be the last FULL weekend in March unless Easter falls on that weekend, in which case the state finals will be the preceding weekend.

This applies to Article 9 - DISTRICT STRUCTURE; Article 14 - TEAM ADVANCEMENT; and APPENDICES A, B, & C pertaining to the regional, state singles, and state team tournament rules.

CHANGE #2

We are allowing schools which may have many more girls than boys to field a co-ed team in the boys division as well as a girl’s team. However, the girls cannot compete during the season with both teams. They must specify with which team they are competing prior to the start of the season.

This applies to Article 10 - TEAM STRUCTURE

CHANGE #3

We are clarifying the term “denim trousers” to mean “blue jeans or sweat pants”.

This applies to Article 14 - TEAM ADVANCEMENT and the regional & state tournament rules.

CHANGE #4

We are specifying that there shall not be more than 65 singles entrants at the state singles tournament.

This applies to Article 15 - STATE INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENT
